Some 3400 years ago, a small nation of run away slaves, fought hunger, thirst and harsh tracks crossing the Sinai desert. They were on their way home after 400 years of exile. Yes, the ancient Hebrews... Finally, after two year, arriving at their Fatherland. No, no refugee protection program welcomed them.. Rather, It was the king of Tel Arad, with his well fed and charged up soldiers... This took place on the boarder of the Judea desert and the Negev desert. Where we start our track today... We are deep down in wadi Hemar, with signs of desert Bedouin sheep herds and camels. To see the battle-grounds, we will have to climb up the steep Cipon ascent, right up to the Zohar ridge. Welcome to the Judea desert!!
We are now 630 meters above sea level and starting a descent through the Judea desert to the lowest point on Earth. The Dead Sea..It will take us the rest of the day, but our end point, is Einot Kedem, the healthiest hot springs site in Israel...
