A challenging 4x4 majestic desert track down hill and extremely challenging up-hill. Especially attractive after desert flash floods, when all water holes fill up for splashing children....  
At the end of Byzantine Roman rule, a line of fortifications called The Limas, stretched across the southern border of the country, defending camel convoys of salt coming up from the Dead Sea and destined for Gaza on the Mediterranean sand dune shores. Our track starts at the decline to Sodom and sharply descends into the ravine of Nachal Peres. Here, after a short walk into a narrow canyon, we shall discover some of the most beautiful marble type water holes nature sculptured in the Judea Desert... After floods, the chances are excellent to enjoy the full beauty of the twinkling water pools! Further on the track ahead, Zurim mountain outlook post will supply a vantage point on the impressive Edom and Moab mountains, towering over the turquoise salt pools of the Dead Sea.

Turning west and continuing a long climb up on Kemer Chatsira, we reach Har Tsvaim. The mountain stands out from the rest, so reaching the top, most of the track we took, we see spread out in the distance... At the summit, Mitspe (outlook) Naama was built in memory of a young woman soldier, who was killed while training Golani soldiers on a hike in Nachal Ashalim.

From here, we head north towards Nachal Gemalim and two steep descents at Mount Hamarmar and Har Komot. As we partner with Nachal Chemar, known as the biblical Edom track, we drive on the northern bank, approaching the stunning view of the canyon who received the name "the Israeli Grand Canyon" ... smaller, but ours...

We end our track, driving down to the Dead Sea natural beach of hot springs (in winter) and of shade covered sweet water springs in summer...
