​It is two hours out of Tel Aviv and into the deep tranquility of the southern Judea desert...In a summer moon light track, winter blue skies or top-of-the-line air conditioned 4x4...This track is a desert marvel!
Soon, we enter Nahal Hemar, part of the biblical Edom Track from Jordan and Chevron mountains. Driving on rounded pebbles, on both sides upright dolomite cliffs, home for the rock hyrax and the nearly extinct Egyptian vulture. Opposite a Christ's Thorn Jujube, we will gently pray the black dripping side bank, amazingly realizing it is natural black tar!  Carefully examining the dry river bed, we will detect camel dung and if lucky, may just witness a camel convoy that has taken advantage of the cliffs shade.
 Out of Nahal Hemar  and up onto the bumpy platform of Lissan Marl soft sea deposit, dried up 160,000 years ago. These white, light yellow and light gray layers, form beautiful wavy geometry art and right near our track! Soon, we are down into Nachal Lot, carrying flood water, slowed down by dolomite rocks, enables the germination and thriving of desert bushes, perfect for a small family of wild ibex... 
Nachal Pratsim, is a   true 4x4 challenge from start to end. The track crosses many narrow dry water ditches that cut steep declines and ascents all along the track. One can never be sure the track will be passable all the way...

Har Sdom, is a mass of salt 11 kilometers long, one kilometer wide and 3.6 kilometers deep!! Can you imagine climbing a salt mountain with a 4x4?  From the top, we have a view of stretched out dead sea salt water evaporation "ponds" for kilometers east of us, right into Jordan...To the west, we have a full view of the great Amiaz plain we are exploring.
Once down the mountain we enter the last part of our track: Nachal Sdom. This is a the best up-down, left right, twist and turn 4x4 track in Israel..Pure fun as a walking or biking track too, especially on a moon light night..
On our way north along the Dead Sea and just around sunrise, we will take a short and challenging track down to a remote hot sulfur springs beach. A world marvel of relaxation experience. Not less...
